14.00-19.30: HIGHLIGHT of this year’s Sustainability Week– En-ROADS Workshop on “Climate & Energy Policy Negotiation Role-Play” (EN)

with Professor Mandl from the University of Vienna and BOKU Vienna.

This workshop allows participants to explore real-world policies and investments needed to combat climate change, offering hope based on the best climate science. The workshop simulates an UN-convened conference, bringing together corporate CEOs, government leaders, NGOs, and stakeholders impacted by climate change. Participants are divided into delegations representing different energy and economic sectors, where they negotiate with each other to develop a global energy scenario using the En-ROADS simulator. This setting provides participants with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the carbon and climate system, as well as the social and political dynamics of the climate challenge confronting us all.

After the workshop, there will be a buffet from Parks Bio Fairtrade Coffe Shop, providing an opportunity to talk and network in a more informal setting. We’re excited about what’s ahead and how these insights can help shape a cleaner, more equitable energy future. The workshop will be hosted by Prof. Dipl.-Ing.
